Moro Dairy

The history of this company begins in 1930 in Oderzo when Luigi Moro, grandfather of the current owner, helped by his children, organized a milk collection center from the stables in the area, to subsequently sell the milk in bulk to families, as the primary ingredient in the poor diet of the period.

After the war, the company concentrated all its resources on the production of milk derivatives (cheeses) and opened a dairy and a sales point in Oderzo. At the beginning of the eighties, the current owner Sergio Moro recovered from the rural world the old techniques of maturing and refining cheeses, once used by farmers and shepherds to preserve, age and flavor them.

Refinement consists of maturing cheeses, respecting their typical characteristics, adding flavoring ingredients to the rind (marc, hay, ash, aromatic herbs, etc.) or to the paste itself (truffle, saffron), in order to give it a particular aroma and its own personality.

In this way, the return to old traditions delivers to the current customer cheeses whose flavors and aromas had long been lost.

In recent years, to diversify and satisfy a clientele that has become increasingly demanding and sophisticated, the Moro Formaggi company specializes in the refinement of blue cheeses with sweet wines (Fior d'Arancio DOCG), spirits (Amarone grappa), liqueurs (chocolate, pistachio) and finally cocktails (Negroni).
